What Are the requirements?

Please note that in order to work with us, you will need to have the following qualifications and documents. You must possess a valid security clearance, a vulnerable sector check, and a child intervention check. Additionally, all providers must have a current Child/Infant CPR First Aid Certificate. An ECE level 1 certification is required, and you must be willing to start working towards Level 2 within one year. Furthermore, you must have a yard that is fenced. Also, you must be willing to attend in-person training for at least one week before approval. Must follow the agency's direction to set up the day home environment.

Do I need an education to become a
Dayhome Program Educator?

It's an asset if you have your Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 1 , 2, or 3.

How much will i make?

As a licensed dayhome provider, you are considered self-employed and able to set your own rates and the Agency will add a standard administration fee on top of your rate. Because we are a licensed family dayhome Agency, educators are eligible to qualify for provider support funding based on their level of education. This funding is added over and above your monthly rate.

How many children can I care for and
what are the ratios?

You can have up to six children (aged 12 and under) not including your own children. You can have two children under the age of 2 or three children under the age of 3 (Including your own children).

Can I run my dayhome if I rent my home?

Yes, however, we will require written permission from your landlord.

Can my friend / husband / sister / daughter
etc. run my dayhome with me?

Only one person can be contracted with the Agency. Your friend/husband/sister/daughter etc only can help you when you are with children, they can not be left alone with children.

What are the benefits of opening my
dayhome through your agency?

- By working through our agency, you are eligible to receive Educator support funding based on your certification (up to a maximum of 181 hours per month)

ECE Level 1 - $2.64 / Hour
ECE Level 2 - $6.05 / Hour
ECE Level 3 - $8.62 / Hour

- You will be eligible for government infant care incentives ($150 / child per month) when caring for children 18 months and younger.

- The Agency will help you to assist government professional development grant.

- You will receive supplies support grant when you are contracted with us.

- We refer families to your home.

- We offer back up care if it's available.

- Families who register can access childcare subsidy if they qualify and grants as well.

- You will receive a dedicated consultant with education and experience in Early Learning and Child Care to mentor and guide you.

- We offer several workshops every year, helping you grow professionally.

How much is the agency fee?

we charge one hundred per child per month.

What does the deposit mean?

The deposit will be refunded upon giving a 2-month notice prior to the end of your contract.

Do I still need to go for the training if I have a lot of experience?

Yes, it is necessary. Each agency has different policies and standards, and we want to help you run a quality day home and be a successful business owner.

How long will the contract be?

Renewable one-year contract, subject to renewal upon mutual agreement.

What's the next step after I submit the online application?

Once your application is submitted, you will be automatically added to our waitlist. We will contact you as soon as we have an available spot. If you want to switch agencies, we need your program profile from your current agency.

Is there a waitlist available?

Yes, we do have a waitlist.

When will I get a chance to join your agency?

It's difficult to give a specific timeline for joining our agency because all approved day homes are required to give us two months' notice before withdrawing. The availability of openings also depends on the needs of the parents in the community.

Our hiring procedure after you respond to our spot opening email is as follows:

-We will send an email to all waitlisted applicants.
-We will review the candidates' records and assess their suitability for the position.
-We will contact the potential educator for more information if necessary.
-We will send an invoice for the deposit once the candidate is selected.
-We will set up a training schedule for the new hire.
-Lastly, we will schedule a screening visit to finalize the hiring process.
